Patient of the Week: Gila Monster

This Gila Monster came to Tucson Wildlife Center after being found caught in a snap trap. Upon arrival to TWC, her right front limb was severely swollen. After taking x-rays, she thankfully didn’t have any fractures. It’s been a long road for this patient as she originally had no movement or feeling in her front right limb. Over time, she has slowly regained use of the limb and become more alert. Currently, alert is an understatement for her as she is feisty and aggressive which is always a good sign for their health. She still has some more rehab ahead of her as she is getting over knuckling her front limb but her path is a bright one. We’re excited for what the future holds for this beautiful creature.
