When you release a beautiful Albino Dove, you set it in some open scrub brush and step way back to watch what it does. At first, it looks around and adjusts itself. Then it turns and looks at you as if to say, “really…I’m free now?” Standing up tall now, it slowly turns away and gracefully lifts off.
You watch it flying well and smile inside as it lands expertly in a nearby mesquite tree on a low branch. It looks back at you again briefly, this time as if to say, “thank you!”
It’s a mission that numerous staff and volunteers have worked together to complete. You feel great as the dove starts preening itself. And you know, without a doubt, that this one will thrive. 🙂
