Patient of the Week: Black-Crowned Night Heron

A fledgling at the time, this heron was found near Reid Park after being sighted with what appeared to be head trauma. After being brought to Tucson Wildlife Center, she was diagnosed with soft tissue wounds to the head. Staff at TWC quickly set her on a rehab path as her wounds were tended to and she was watched closely for any abnormalities in behavior. In rehab, this patient has made great progress, grown into a young adult, and is now waiting on final flight testing before release!
